"My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me and from the words of my roaring? Psalm 22:1. King David wrote those words and centuries later our Lord Jesus Christ cried out these very words as He hung on the cross. As we read through the 22nd Psalm it's clear that …

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We so frequently have urged our readers to pray earnestly for the things we see unfolding in this fallen world. We have urged each to pray for those of our brethren all across the globe who, though we don't know them, they are our brothers and sisters. We want to take the time here to ask each of you to turn pray in this holy season and to remember the armor of God that we not go a day without putting in on before we go into the world.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:22-27

Paul was quoting from the Book of Isaiah.

He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;
And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.
17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate,
And a helmet of salvation on His head;
He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing,
And was clad with zeal as a cloak.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay,
Fury to His adversaries,
Recompense to His enemies;
The coastlands He will fully repay.
19 So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:16-19

Here are our two witnesses to how very important this armor is. The only difference between what records show that Paul admonished and what Isaiah said is that cloak of zeal. I submit to you that cloak of zeal is a zeal, a love, for the Word which is the Sword. A great desire to defend the word which is truth. Let us all join in prayer together and make set aside time to spend with our Heavenly Father in worship, prayer, and in the study of His Word. He said, "Come unto Me and I will show you great and mighty things that you knoweth not."

Let us be warriors.

Blessings to each of you.
